Aboud Zazi

Aboud Zazi is a famous Assyrian/Syriac singer. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon, but his family was exiled in 1976, after the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War. They finally settled in Södertälje, Sweden.
Zazi showed his passion for music at an early stage of his childhood. In 1981 he played his first song on stage, at the Assyrian/Syriac Cultural Club in Södertälje.
He released his first tape "Gelyono" in 1991. It contained eight songs, some of which were written by the great Syriac lyricist by George Shamoun.
In January 2000, Zazi released his first CD titled "Wa‘do du Qtoro". The CD included songs such as "Bartho Turayto" and "Latyo ‘Aybo w-Lo Htitho". The album was written mostly by Tuma Nahroyo, George Shamoun, and Elias Younan.
Zazi's songs are very popular among the young Assyrian/Syriac generation.
