Introduction Abid Tamimi is a Punjabi poet. He was born on 1st September 1955. His father's name was Noor Hussain Tamimi. His profession was banking. He was living in Chiniot Tehsil of District Chiniot, . He started poetry in year 1971. His poetry is popular among the people of Punjab especially in the region of Sargodha and Chiniot "Sandal Bar and Kirana Bar".His poetry theme is unattainable love or divinity and romanticism. His pen name was Abid Tamimi. His achievement in poetry were awards he won at different occasions like Sakhi Sarwar award 2005, Talib Hussain Talib Award and Chiniot Gold Medal. Many Punjabi Folk singer sung his poetry like Allah Dita Loone Wala, Manssor Mallangi, Afshan, Talib Hussain Dard etc. He died on 11 April 2006 in Chiniot at the age of 51. He was a good poet as well as a good human because of his sufi nature he is known as darhi mond Qalandar.His poem Sassi is very popular in all the punjab.
