Aban Quaynor (Ah-ban Kay-nor)is a fictional character from Danish folklore. According to myth this 'monster' would appear from the Baltic Sea at night and snatch any child playing near the shore. Many parents would tell their children the story of the 'child snatcher' as they were growing up in the hope they would stay away from the shore at night when the tide is at its most dangerous. The most popular description's of the Quaynor monster describe it as having wild bulging eyes and of the creature being at least 12 feet in length, the beast is also said to have a revolting smell to it, one not too dissimilar to fish.
