Aaron B. Del Mar

Aaron Bacevic Del Mar was born as an only child to Bacevic & Betty Del Mar and was raised in Palatine, Illinois. A product of District 15 & 211 schools (Gray M. Sanborn & Walter Sundling), he graduated from Palatine High School in 1996. During his high school career, Aaron was on the varsity wrestling team, earning All-State honors and setting several school records. Aaron earned a scholarship to Indiana University-Bloomington and graduated with a degree in Public Management from their nationally-ranked school of Public and Environmental Affairs. During his time at Indiana, Aaron was a varsity letter winner in wrestling, a three-time Judo All-American and a member of the 2000 University World Judo Team. Del Mar went on to be a resident athlete for Judo at the Olympic Training Cente<nowiki/>r in Colorado Springs, CO.
An entrepreneur, Aaron now owns several companies. They include Adrenaline Sports Management, which produces running races and endurance events across the country including the nationally acclaimed Santa Hustle Half Marathon and 5K and US Casino Rentals LLC, a marketing firm that specializes in party planning, sports management and corporate marketing and promotions.
Aaron founded Fathers Helping Fathers in 2006 after a 3 year struggle to get time with his son, Konnor B. Del Mar. Information about where and when his sons birth took place were withheld from him, and subsequent attempts at contact and visitation were repeatedly thwarted. He traveled the country in the hopes of gaining access and time with Konnor B. Del Mar. After considerable emotional and legal efforts, the courts awarded him sole custody.
Aaron B. Del Mar is also an American politician and business man from Palatine, IL. He was the first minority and youngest person ever elected to the Palatine Village Council in 2009 and left office in 2013.
In 2012 Del Mar served as the first minority to lead the Cook County Republican Party as their Chairman.
As Chairman, Aaron Del Mar did not believe in a top-down approach to leading the Cook County Republican Party. He believes it is the Chairman’s responsibility to support the Township and Ward Committeemen who are elected by Republican voters to lead the Party in their communities. CookCounty is too diverse to be led in a one-size-fits-all manner. As a result, Chairman Del Mar developed and instituted the Committeeman Support Program. This first-of-its-kind program helps provide Committeemen and their organizations the tools and support they need to be successful as the front-line warriors of the Republican Party.
While Chicago and Cook County have been (in)famous nationwide for corruption and vote fraud, very little had been done to secure the vote and ensure election integrity. Under the leadership of Chairman Del Mar, the Cook County Republican Party and the Party’s Election Integrity Committee have taken major steps to combat this problem.
For the first time ever, thanks to our recruiting efforts, every polling place had a Republican Election Judge in the 2012 General Election. In the 2014 Primary Election, not only did every early voting site and polling place have a Republican Election Judge, but 1613 (out of 1673) precincts had verified Republican Election Judges administering the vote.
In addition to recruiting Republican Election Judges and verifying their Republican credentials, major progress has been made in improving the process itself. Republican Committeemen now have the ability to choose their Republican Election Judges for Early Voting sites, the City and County Clerks are now actively recruiting Republican Election Judges (we will of course verify each recruit’s Republican credentials), we have helped train Republican Election Judges to identify and prevent vote fraud, and we have made significant progress in stopping the Clerk’s from filling Republican Election Judge slots with Democrat Election Judges.
Working directly with the Republican Renaissance PAC, Illinois House and Senate Republicans, and the Illinois Victory Program, Chairman Del Mar and the Cook County Republican Party coordinated multiple call centers throughout CookCounty in the 2012 General Election.
These call centers focused on reaching out to independent voters in nine targeted swing House and Senate Districts with a targeted script. Over 100,000 calls were made via these call centers.
As the first ever minority to hold the position of Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party, Del Mar has made it a priority to recruit individuals into the Republican Party that had been previously ignored. He has recruited a diverse and geographically-balanced team to lead the County Party, and has developed outreach programs to reach out to the Cook County Hispanic and African American communities.
He was re-elected in 2014 when Del Mar left office he made a very contriversal move and fired 13 Chicago City Ward Committeemen in an effort to purge the Cook County Central Committee from false Republicans .
Del Mar currently serves in his second term as the Palatine Township Republican Committeemenand as a Fire Trustee for the [http://www.prfpd.org/#!contact-us/c16fm Palatine Township Rural Fire Protection District].
In his role as Palatine Township Republican Committeeman, Aaron works with many elected leaders and has monthly meetings the first Saturday of each month with Speakers such as Congressman Peter Roskam, Bruce Rauner, Dan Duffy, Mark Kirk, Matt Murphy, Tom Morrison.
Nationally, Aaron Del Mar has served as a 2012 Presidential Elector from Illinois, and ran as a delegate to The Republican National Convention for John Kasich. He has personally hosted a town hall for John Kasich in Palatine, IL. Del Mar was also instrumental in John Kasich earning the endorsement of the Cook County Republican Party
