A10 World Series

A10 World Series was, in early 2011, a proposed new Global Motorsport Series. The series was seen as a reincarnation of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, 2 years after that series folded, with national teams racing against each other, and with drivers from their country racing for them. The series was to have started in October 2011, with a new website being released in early 2011 giving people a feed of information on what they can expect when the series starts. The series was set to use the Powered by Ferrari A1GP cars with a new V10 engine with 600 bhp. However, by the end of 2011, there were no further announcements on participating teams or an event calendar. The holding company for the series was formally dissolved in early 2012.
Races
The series announced plans for a 10 event, 20 race calendar, with 2 races held every event. This would be similar to A1GP and GP2 with a 'sprint race' and 'feature race'. 2 practice sessions and a qualifying session would also be part of the weekend.
