A Game as Old as Empire: The Secret World of Economic Hit Men and the Web of Global Corrruption (2007) (ISBN 978-1-57675-395-8) is a follow-up to Confessions of an Economic Hit Man. After critics lambasted Perkins' sole account of being an "economic hit man", the author and publisher collected accounts of economic corruption in a series of 12 essays from investigators, journalists, and activists. The authors tell how multinational corporations, governments, financial institutions, and quasi-governmental agencies operate to enrich elites while impoverishing masses of people and creating debt and dependency that economically enslave countries for generations. The book is edited by Steven Hiatt, with an introduction by John Perkins, author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.
