Johnnie Sue Bridges

Johnnie Sue Bridges is an American author and photographer. She is the author of Shadows and Scars and Motown Girl Sister Golden Hair.
Biography
Bridges was born September 13, 1958 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, United States, to Ules Woodby and Shelby Jean Grider-Woodby.
Bridges is known for her series of memoirs, the first of which, "Shadows And Scars", was released in June 2007. This book chronicles her early years during the 1960s of living in the mountains of Appalachia.
In October 2008, book 2 of her series, "Motown Girl Sister Golden Hair," was released. This book chronicles her growing up in the early 1970s in the inner city of Detroit’s Westside.
In October 2010, Bridges released book 3 of her series entitled “Run BabyGirl Run.”
Personal life
Bridges currently resides in West Bloomfield, Michigan. She is married to Gil Bridges, a Motown recording artist of the classic rock band, Rare Earth. Bridges' photos of Rare Earth and other musicians, places, and people have been displayed around the world in newspapers, on billboards, in books, magazines, and CD covers.

Bridges' photos were used for the cover and the inside disk of Rare Earth’s self titled CD “Rare Earth”. In 2008, Rare Earth released “A Brand New World,” their first CD in the United States in over thirty years. Bridges designed the inside of the jacket cover. In 2010 she designed the DVD and the jacket cover for “Rare Earth Live.”
