A-G requirements

The A-G requirements are the subjects that must be completed in high school in order to be admitted to campuses of the University of California and California State University. These requirements are: * A: Social Studies - 2 years. One year of world history and one year of American history. A semester of American government may be substituted for one of the American history semesters. * B: English - 4 years * C: Mathematics - 3 years of college prep mathematics at algebra or above * D: Lab science - 1 year of biology and 1 year of either chemistry or physics * E: Language other than English - 2 years of the same language * F: Visual and performing arts - 1 year of art, dance, drama or music * G: College prep elective - 1 additional year of any of requirements A-F or certain other approved electives See Also
