The 911 nightclub fire was a fire disaster that occurred on March 24, 2007 at the 911 nightclub in Moscow. Ten people were killed and several others injured when a person putting on a fire show inadvertently set light to himself. Fire The fire broke out during a show that night that involved a performer with flames. He accidentally set his clothing alight; this then spread to a nearby container of spirits and from here the nightclub's entire stage was rapidly engulfed. According to a prosecutor, the fact that the deceased died almost immediately indicated carbon monoxide poisoning was likely. Those killed included two Bulgarian nationals.<ref name="BBC-init"/>
