6 Day Riot was a London based alternative pop band, formed in 2006, and featuring Tamara Schlesinger (vocals, ukulele, guitar), Daniel Deavin (drums), Edd Harwood (upright bass), Gabriel Lucena (guitar) and Rachel Coleshill (violin, melodica). 6 Day Riot take influences from folk and pop music. Career Their first EP, "Maybe", was released in July 2006, and in May 2007 they released their debut album, Folie à Deux on Hubris Records. After line-up changes, 6 Day Riot went on to perform at North by Northeast in 2008, debuting a new EP "Bring On The Waves", featuring songs written about going to Canada for the festival, including the single "Go! Canada". Their EP and single were released on Tantrum Records, their own record label. In 2009 the band played at various festivals across the UK, including Glastonbury and the Green Man Festival, as well as their own UK tour alongside Gideon Conn. Their album 6 Day Riot Have A Plan was released on 6 July 2009 on Tantrum Records, featuring the single "Run For Your Life". The song was Radcliffe/Maconie's single of the week on Radio 2. The band were named as one of the top 10 "pop picks of 2009" by Pete Paphides at The Times, and their singles have received national airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, XFM and BBC Radio 1. The band completed 2009 with a support slot with Seth Lakeman across the UK, and made the iTunes best albums of 2009 list. Tracks from 6 Day Riot's Have A Plan album and "Bring on the Waves" EP were featured on series 4 of the television programme, Skins. Their single "All I Need" from their latest album was released on Tantrum Records on 7 June 2010, and was the winner of Steve Lamacq's Rebel Playlist on BBC 6 Music. On This Island was released on 1 November 2010, with the lead single "Take Me" out on 27 October. The band toured the UK promoting the release and supported Belle and Sebastian in Dec at The Barrowland in Glasgow. On This Island was named one of the best albums of 2010 by UK music website, The Music Fix. Amelia's Magazine and also made the iTunes best albums of 2010 list. Their song "Run for Your Life" is featured in the 2011 film Scream 4.
