3 in a Row was a pricing game played on the Leslie Crowther version of the British version of The Price Is Right. The game was based on the game of noughts and crosses, and was played for a moderately priced prize, and used small prizes. Despite their similar roots in the game of noughts and crosses, it is not related to the American pricing game Gameplay The goal of the game was to create a row of three on a 3x3 board in any direction by correctly answering questions about one of nine small prizes. The contestant began by picking a space on the board, which the host then flipped the cover of to reveal one of the nine small prizes behind it (displayed off to the side). The player must then correctly answer a question about the prize to earn the square, such as guessing if the displayed price shown for it is higher or lower than the actual retail price, or whether the displayed price is true or false. The game is won when a row of three is formed.
