2C2P is a payment platform provider that works with global enterprises operating in emerging markets to accept payments via online, mobile, and offline channels. The company's services include issuing, payouts, invoicing, digital goods aggregation and reselling services. Headquartered in Singapore, 2C2P operates across more than 20 countries around the world.
History
2C2P was founded in 2003 by Aung Kyaw Moe, an entrepreneur from Myanmar who is based in Singapore and Thailand. In 2007, the company expanded to Singapore and other Asian and European markets. 2C2P currently has over 400 employees in 10 markets.
In 2009, 2C2P was awarded the Grand Prize of the Nokia Calling All Innovator 2009 in the Emerging Markets and Mobile Necessities category. In 2013, 2C2P ranked 100th in Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Awards, which recognised the fastest growing regional technology companies. In 2015, it was named as one of the top 25 payment startups by CB Insights, alongside Square Inc., , and Adyen. In 2021, 2C2P was featured in the Financial Times' top 500 Asia-Pacific High Growth Companies, and was also listed in The Straits Times' 2021 fastest growing companies in Singapore.
2C2P has received financial backing from venture capitalists Amun Capital, GMO Venture Partners and Digital Media Partners. To date, it has raised more than US$50 million with the latest funding round in 2019.
In early 2020, 2C2P announced the launch of an investment arm called 2C2P.VC to accelerate the growth of its omni-channel payment platform. In late 2020, it announced its logo and website refresh as part of its aim to expand globally.
In April 2022, Chinese financial and payment company Ant Group took up majority ownership of 2C2P. The deal will lead to the integration of Ant's payment service with 2C2P's platform.
Products and services
2C2P enables its merchants to accept electronic payments, mobile payments, credit cards, and point-of-sale payments in more than 20 over countries. Its services include payment processing and acquiring in select markets, issuing cards and wallets, processing mass payouts and cross-border remittances, as well as aggregating and selling digital goods and services.
In terms of payment acceptance, it accepts over 250 payment methods and has an alternative payments network that extends to over 400,000 locations across Asia. It provides customisable payment features such as card authentication, instalment payment options and currency converters. For example, 2C2P's 3D Secure authentication technology is widely implemented by card issuing banks across Southeast Asia, and is responsible for over 85% of authentications in Thailand alone.
