The 2472d AF Reserve Flying Center was a USAF Reserve unit activated as the 4101st Army Air Force Base Unit (Reserve Training) on July 12, 1946 at Fairfax Field. Renamed the 2472d AF Reserve Training Center before 28 August 1948), the center along with the 442d Troop Carrier Wing moved from Fairfax to Naval Air Technical Training Center Olathe, Kansas, on May 22, 1950. By 18 June 1954 the center was part of the Airways and Air Communications Service and included the 11th AACS Installation and Maintenance Squadron The 2472d was renamed a flying center* by 3 April 1955 when it moved to Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base in Missouri where it remained until 19 March 1959.
