2019 Lake City shooting spree

The 2019 Lake City shooting spree was a series of shooting incidents and attempted and successful car jackings that occurred on March 27, 2019. The incident began with an attempted car jacking, shooting, and injuring of a woman and continued with the shooting and injuring of a King County Metro Transit bus driver, the car jacking and killing of another passerby, and finally ended when the perpetrator crashed the stolen car into another vehicle, killing the driver. The incident lasted approximately thirty-five minutes before the perpetrator was arrested by police.
Shootings
Shortly after 4 pm, the perpetrator walked out of his apartment in the Lake City neighborhood of northeast Seattle armed with a Glock 9mm handgun. He walked near the intersection of Sand Point Way Northeast and Bartlett Avenue Northeast and approached the driver of a car and began shooting. The perpetrator shot the first victim three times while she was in her car and then walked into the middle of the street and began firing on a public transit bus, hitting and wounding the driver. Despite being shot, the bus driver was able to back up, turn the bus around, and drive to safety away from the scene. None of the twelve passengers on the bus were injured.
Continuing to wander in the middle of the street, the perpetrator approached an oncoming red Prius - unaware of the situation unfolding - and fatally shot the driver in the head before pulling him out and driving away. Approximately three blocks away, near the intersection of Northeast 120th Street and Sand Point Way Northeast, the perpetrator collided with another vehicle, killing the driver.
At this point, the stolen vehicle was incapacitated due to the collision, and after a brief standoff, the perpetrator surrendered and police were able to arrest him without further incident at 4:34 pm. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation and to treat non-life threatening injuries and subsequently discharged into police custody where he was booked on investigation of homicide, robbery, and assault shortly after midnight on March 28, 2019.
Perpetrator
Tad Michael Norman, 33, was the sole perpetrator. According to charging documents filed in King County Court, he told investigators that he had no memory of the incident. He said he was a recovering alcoholic who would frequently get black out drunk. He stated that earlier in the day he purchased alcohol, including vodka, rum, and wine, and took it home and started playing video games on his Xbox. He had no memory after that until he regained some memory function when he was in the hospital.
