2012-13 Boxing Doping Scandal

Over the course of 2012 & 2013, an unusually large amount of high profile boxers failed post-fight drug tests:
Lamont Peterson
On May 9, 2012, a rematch with Amir Khan was cancelled after Peterson failed a random urine test and the standard followup test. The results indicated he tested positive for synthetic testosterone, a banned substance. Peterson admitted to taking the substance and claimed it was for medical reasons.
Andre Berto
On May 18, 2012, Berto tested positive in both his A and B samples for norandrosterone, a detectable metabolite of nandrolone which is an anabolic steroid. With the results, his June 23rd rematch with Victor Ortiz, the only man to have beaten Berto to that point, was cancelled. Berto denied using the substance, despite having Victor Conte of the infamous Balco Company in his training camp.
Tarver reportedly tested positive for an anabolic steroid in his pre-fight urine sample prior to his fight with Lateef Kayode.
Following his fight against Felix Sturm, Soliman was tested positive for a forbidden substance.
Failed a drugs test immediately after losing his world title to Mikkel Kessler.
Morales tested positive for the banned anabolic agent Clenbuterol in out-of-competition urine tests October 3 and 10 in Mexico.
He tested positive for Furosemide in tests conducted by Russian doping agency RUSADA for his bout against Denis Lebedev.
Chavez tested positive for marijuana after his first professional loss to Sergio Martinez in Las Vegas on Sept. 15 2012.
