2011 Brazilian Air Force Cessna 208B Grand Caravan Crash

On 2 August 2011, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan crashed near Bom Jardim da Serra, two hours after takeoff from Porto Alegre Air Force Base.. A spokesman for the Brazilian Air Force said that the aircraft and crew were part of the 5th Airlift Squadron of the Air force.

The aircraft was a single-engined Cessna 208B Grand Caravan operated by the 5th Airlift Squadron of the Brazilian Air Force. There have also been reports that the crash occurred with a very strong wind in place at the time.
Investigation
The Brazilian Air Force has said that an investigation that will take place. The only possible cause that could have contributed right now is that a strong wind was around according to witnesses at the time of the plane's dive and crash.<ref name="press"/>
