2-A1MP is the common name for a stimulant, entactogen, psychedelic, and mild empathogen of the cathinone family of compounds. It is the beta-ketone version of 5-Methoxy-MDMA. The more common name 2-AIMP/2-A1MP does not appear to relate to the molecular structure. This substance has similar action to 5-MeO-MDMA (MMDMA) and 5-MeO-MDA (MMDA) based on user reports found on the internet. The duration appears to be around 2-3 hours, and is reportedly slightly more potent than methylone. The two compounds differ by the addition of a MeO group at the 5th carbon atom of the aromatic ring, this addition seems to be responsible for the added potency and visual activity reported by those who have submitted experience reports.
The toxicity of this compound is unknown. There is very little documented info on this substance at this time.
