12 Peers Theater is a theatre company located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Established in 2011 by Vince Ventura and Sara Fisher, the company's mission is to "highlight social, political, and ethical issues, that exist in both classical and contemporary works...by exploring myth and cultural identity, as well as by using unique and theatrically realized means; all of which strive to open a dialogue with the audience." The company made its debut in August 2011 with a staged reading of Eoin Carney's Best Ever Creation Story Contest featured in the Pittsburgh New Works Festival and plans to hold productions of The Weird by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and the Pittsburgh Monologue Project in 2012. 12 Peers Theater's productions focus on modern myths and how they influence culture, particularly inspired by Joseph Campbell's concept of myths as "public dreams" and dreams as "private myths."
