Zvi Alexander Band is an American Internet entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and CEO of CRM software and service company Contactually, which he created with Tony Cappaert and Jeff Carbonella after meeting through the DC startup network ProudlyMadeinDC. Early life and education Zvi was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Debra Band and David Louis Band. Band was raised in San Diego, California, before moving to New Mexico, then to the DC area with his family. He attended University of Maryland where he studied Computer Science and Economics. While in college, Band worked as a Junior Analyst for L3 Communications and as a Software Developer Intern for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission where he helped create tools for scientists to better perform their research on the safety of nuclear reactor designs. Zvi participated in undergraduate research at the Human Computer Interaction Laboratory (part of the MALACH Project) where he researched new methods of search and user interface navigation, with particular focus on large datasets. Band was also a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Career In 2011, Zvi, Tony, and Jeff launched Contactually a CRM software and service company based in downtown Washington, DC. Contactually is a large provider of streamlined customer relationship software for various industries including Real Estate. Shortly after launching, they were admitted into 500 Startups and officially incorporated as Contactually, Inc. Since 2011, it has expanded the niche of customer relationship tools, and has positioned itself cost-effective alternative to larger CRM tool providers.
