Zen Ki Bo

Zen Ki Bo is a Reality Based self-defence system which was developed in Australia by Scott Cheasley. It was developed as a progressive system, naturally evolving to meet the ever-changing threats in the world.
The name Zen Ki Bo is taken from the Japanese "Bo-Zen" meaning "Overcome with surprise", and "Ki", the Korean word meaning "Spirit or Energy". Therefore "The Spirit of overcoming". Zen Ki Bo consists of an efficient and effective skill-set and a Survival Mindset and uses reality based scenario drills. The primary objective of Zen Ki Bo is to survive a violent situation. Zen Ki Bo follows a rank-structure hierarchy. It places importance on a code of conduct for its members, following the traditional Martial Arts code of behaviour and honour.
Weapons
Zen Ki Bo practitioners learn to defend against a multitude of scenarios, including attackers armed with edged weapons, impact weapons, firearms, and multiple attackers. Situational Awareness and the use of improvised weapons such as pens are also taught.
The Zen Ki Bo syllabus includes the art of "Kombatan Arnis De Mano", a Filipino Martial Art consisting of stick and knife combat.
Therefore students train with Kali sticks and knife. .
