Zahrisaurus is an extinct genus of plesiosaur from the Late Jurassic of Pakistan. Description It was first named by Muhammod Sadiq Malkani in 2019 and the intended type species is Zahrisaurus kilmoolai. The generic name honours the Zahri tribe living around the area where fossils were discovered and combines this with the Greek suffix "saurus", meaning "reptile". The specific name refers the Kil Locality (the site where its hototype was found) and the Moola River flowing through it. The holotype specimen, GSP/MSM-99-K, was collected from the town of Khuzdar, Balochistan, Pakistan. It consists of fragmentary postocranial skeleton, possibly from the Late Jurassic of Chiltan Limestone (Sulaiman Group). The specimen is a part of the collection of the Museum of Geological Survey of Pakistan. "Zahrisaurus" was considered to be dubious due to its fragmentary nature, and as invalid since the description was published in a predatory publication.
