Zack Novak

Zachariah Joseph Novak is currently a Junior and one of the Captains for Michigan Wolverines Basketball. Zack was born on May 17, 1990 in Hammond, Indiana. Zack is the Son of Dana Vandenburgh and David Novak. Zack attended Chesterton High School, and was a basketball star. He earned Indiana All-State first team (2008). Zack is known for his left handed shooting schools from beyond the 3-points line. He verbally agreed to attend the University of Michigan as a scholar on March 9, 2008, but didn't sing with Michigan until April 16, 2008.

In the 2008-2009 season, as a Frehman Zack averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists, along with 8 double figure scoring games. Throughout his Freshamn season he averaged 28.2 minutes per game. In the 2009-2010 season Zack was the first Wolverine to ever be named the captain as a sophmore. That year he averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He averaged 33.2 minutes per game that year and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten. His best year by far came his Junior year. That year he helped carry Michigan to a 20-13 overall record and clinched the number 8 seed in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. That year Zack averaged Averaged 8.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and helped the Wolverines conclude a season sweep againest their rival the Michigan State Spartans.
