Z8D

Z8D is an HD media player and recorder made by Diyomate (Shenzhen, China) and based on a Realtek 1283 chipset.
It has a 416-pin PBGA CPU, up to 256MB DDR2 SDRAM, while the firmware is Linux-based using the Samba network protocol.
Features
The unit weights 959 g and has the dimensions of 25.5×20×15.5 cm.
Digital photo frame
The supported picture formats are JPEG, GIF, BMP etc.
Audio
The supported audio formats are MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, Dolby Digital, DTS Digital etc.
Video
The unit supports all three video encoding formats of Blu-ray disks, i.e. H.264, VC1, and MPEG2.
Supports HD ready mode 720p, and Full HD modes 1080i, 1080p (1920×1080), with bit rates of up to 104Mbit/s.
The supported video formats are: WMV, MKV, MOV, AVI, MP4, MPG, TS, M2TS, TP, TRP, FLV, ISO, IFO, VOB, DAT, RM/RMVB etc.
The supported subtitle formats are: SMI, SRT, SUB, ASS, IDX+SUB, PGS etc.
Storage
The unit supports internal 3.5" SATA HDD, USB HOST 2.0, external USB HDD, U-disk and SD/MMC/MS etc. memory cards.
Network Attached Storage (NAS) device is also supported.
Connectivity
The supported audio and video output interfaces: HDMI 1.3, YPbPr, CVBS, Optical, Coaxial and L/R stereo.
- Supported WiFi functions: 802.11b/g/n. Supports several internet TVs, Youku, YouTube, RSS feeds etc.
Supports two-channel HD DVB-T reception (including time shifting).
The unit can independently handle torrent files (upload and download with the PC switched off).
Software
The official firmware is a Linux-based operating system. Linux 2.6.12.6-VENUS is used. The environment uses BusyBox 1.1.3 built-in shell that boots from the NAND flash.
