In Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Legacy series, the Yeshuites are a race of people, ethnically a fantasy equivalent of the Jews, though their theology incorporates elements of Christianity as well. Though persecuted in many lands, they are welcome in Terre d'Ange, who remember that Elua was fathered by the blood of Yeshua. It is therefore possible that the Council of Jamnia, which separated Judaism and Christianity in our timeline, did not occur in Phedre's world. They are known as excellent doctors, and it is a Yeshuite who gives Phèdre nó Delaunay a salve that heals her skin beautifully.
When Phèdre and Joscelin Verreuil are fleeing the Allies of Camlach, a Yeshuite couple, Taavi and Danele, give Phèdre and Joscelin shelter in their wagon. They recognize Joscelin as a Cassiline; the Yeshuites share an affinity with the Cassilines, alone of Elua's Companions did not break faith with the , but only turned away in shame.
