Yara Lorenzo (Born 1982) is co-founder and Vice-President of the Rising Republican Youth of South Florida a non-profit organization aimed at encouraging young professionals to get involved in the political process. Through the establishment of the Rising Republican Youth, Lorenzo has emerged as a young political leader in the South Florida community.
Lorenzo is a graduate of Brown University, class of 2005, where she concentrated in Ethnic Studiesand Political Science.
Aside from her community involvement, she is third-year law student at St.Thomas University School of Law. At St.Thomas she founded and currently co-chairs the St.Thomas Public Service Network, an organization focused on promoting public service in the legal community. Lorenzo, also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review.
In 2008, Lorenzo was selected as a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow. She will also serve as an extern in the Florida Supreme Court. Recently, she was selected as a winner for The White House Project's Women Rule! Program, for her outstanding leadership and dedication to important community issues.
