WWE Jakks Classic Superstars Action Figures

The WWE Jakks Classic Superstars Action Figure line is one of the most sought after professional wrestling figure action figure lines in history. The line was introduced in 2004 by Jeremy Padawer , and has helped revitalize the Jakks pacific brand. The line incorporates legends of professional wrestling from the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment, World Championship Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, American Wrestling Association, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and other personalities who have signed a contract with Jakks Pacific to have their likenesses used in this line.

It should be noted that performers who have signed with Jakks Pacific for this line do not necessarily have a working or speaking relationship with WWE, and sometimes it is quite the contrary. Some superstars such as Bruno Sammartino, The Ultimate Warrior or Demolition Ax are on bad terms with WWE, despite their likenesses being sold under the WWE banner.

To capture the authenticity of the performers, Jakks creates realistic face sculpts using Real Scan Technology, where the performers face will actually be scanned so an exact duplicate can be made on the figure. All figures are fully poseable, and come with highly detailed features and outfits. The line features wrestlers, tag teams, announcers, and managers from the 1970's to today.

The line consists of single figures released in series, and the amount of figures in each series ranges from six to twelve. There are also 2-packs, 3-packs, and exclusives released in certain stores only, such as Wal-Mart and Toys 'R' Us. The toy magazine Toyfare also sells exclusives. Usually the magazine will offer mailaways of figures limited to 1 of 3000, and sometimes 1 of 100. There are also exclusives limited to other countries, such as the United Kingdom. The rarest figures in the set are Jakks Pacific employee exclusives, which can be limited to 20 or 25 in total production. Also, many of the regularly released figures have several variants to them, beginning with Series 2. In 2006, Jakks introduced their WWE Deluxe Classic Superstars line with Super Articulation. To date, there are 5 figures released in each series.
