World Peace One

Contrary to any existing misperceptions and far more than a planned concert series, World Peace One (WP1) is a 10-Year Global Peace Initiative with a multiplicity of inventive global campaigns, programs and activities whose intent is to aid humanity in "ending all war" in favor of "Permanent Peace," by launching a massive "World Peace Movement, that emphasizes human re-inspiration, re-education and redirection. All of WP1's programs are being organized by WP1 Foundation, Inc., a Florida, USA non-profit organization. WP1 is preparing a series of comprehensive Peace Ambassadorship Programs, targeting governments, religious groups and houses of worship, corporations, schools and universities, as well as celebrity groups, women's organizations, the sports community and the world's youth.
An Overview of WP1's Philosophy
For nearly a thousand centuries the human race has been plagued by an unending cycle of division, mistrust, violence and war. Fear and ignorance, superstition, aggression and vengeance, have rendered as elusive and ineffective, humanity’s “Quest for Peace”.
In spite of astounding advances in culture, science, the arts and communications, human behavior has tended slowly toward non-violence and peace, and all too readily to violence and war… quick to polarize, judge and condemn… reluctant to unite, understand and forgive. Tragically, humanity’s addiction to war has exacted a toll of hundreds of millions of precious, innocent lives, whose cries echo unanswered through the ages. A primitive act of “Ritual Sacrifice Upon the Unholy Altar of War,” all of the victims, with families, names and a purpose… had the right to live out their lives and pursue their dreams, in tranquility and peace.
In our movement through time, humanity can and must reach a point where together, we silence the cries of those grievously disrupted lives, by “Graduating” from the barbarous and destructive practices of violence and war. As modern weaponry is capable of mass annihilation, every war waged becomes another of “Humanity’s Flirtations With Suicide”… even as daily, the drums of war, sound in every direction. What we have failed to realize, is that in truth, there are no winners in war. Wars are proving too costly, unpopular and unsuccessful. They will bankrupt even the wealthiest of nations. We have grown tired of this unhealthy and unsavory predation. Our fate and our future will be shaped by the choices and decisions we make today. We must “bring an end to all war, before war brings an end to humanity.”
In terms of human evolution and the advancement of society and culture, primitive practices and bad ideas, by nature, give way to better ideas and to progress. “Peace is a better idea than war,” and for those who purport that “war is big business,” or that “war is good for business,” the business of human survival and continuation of our species, is much bigger business and far more crucial to the entire human race.
While peace is a benefit to all, war benefits only a handful of profiteers. To profit from the taking of lives and from the misfortune of the innocent, is a disgraceful and deplorable practice… and spiritually and morally unconscionable. Only real peace brings lasting security, justice, equity, equality and prosperity… and what greater cause can we serve than to redeem all of the tragic wars of history, by bequeathing a “Legacy of Peace,” to all present and future generations? Peace is a magnificent necessity. It is our ultimate gift to each other and to the world.
In order to emancipate ourselves from the endless cycle of violence and from the ravages of war, humanity must “Graduate” from division and self-destruction, by recognizing our “Inherent Unity” and our singularity as a species… by practicing “Unity in Diversity,” and by promoting “Universal Respect and Tolerance.” As peace is the “province of every man, woman and child,” and a demand of the human spirit, we must now rise up to fulfill our greater destiny, by ushering in an “Era of Peace, Civility and Diplomacy.”
Thus, in an effort to fulfill the common hopes and dreams of a progressing humanity and emerging global community, “We the People of the World” must state our clear intent to bring “An End to All War,” in favor of “True and Lasting Peace.” Let us do so through our “Declaration of World Peace One.”
Consecrated to serving our “Greater Human Family,” World Peace One recognizes no human enemies. Our principal enemy is an idea… the idea that terror, violence and war continue to be considered a viable means of solving our problems and conflicts. Nothing could be further from the truth. Wars perpetuate violence, destruction, debt, ill will, mistrust. New wars create new problems and conflicts, and in our changing world, their aftermath becomes increasingly complex. Whether wittingly or unwittingly, humankind has unleashed colossal “Engines of Mass Division, Destruction and War” upon humanity and our world.
As a result, today there stirs in the majority of humankind, the desire to bring “Permanent Peace” to our world during our lifetime… to celebrate the reality of our singularity and commonality. For “when we respect and celebrate life, we honor the intelligence that created it.” Furthermore, World Peace requires “Worldwide Initiative”.... and lasting peace requires a call to action to yield the largest and most effective movement the world has ever seen. Every race, ethnicity, nation, culture, religion, individual and group, must rise up as never before, to demonstrate the intensity of our commitment to the critical “Cause of Peace.”
World Peace One’s intent is nothing less than to rally humanity’s genius, mobilize the people of the world, and secure the continuation of the human species for generations to come. “The time has come to mobilize for peace, the way we have always previously mobilized for war.” The time has come for humanity to unleash its transformative “Engines of Peace.”
As humanity’s tattered myths and superstitious beliefs crumble under the weight of their own ruinous and unnatural falsehoods, a new “Mythos,” a new “Ethos” and “A New Story,” of a more enlightened and cooperative humanity is emerging. Why ignore our many deep and profound commonalities for the sake of a handful of false distinctions.
To bring about peace in the world, we must find the “Peace and Truth in Our Hearts.” Human resuscitation and redefinition… universal re-education and redirection… mutual respect and tolerance… dignity, diplomacy and integrity and… love, compassion and forgiveness… these will help to secure humanity’s future and deliver “The Gift of Lasting Peace.”
World Peace One Global SuperConcert
The WP1 Global SuperConcert is a planned 24-hour "live" concert event. The intent of the event is to increase awareness and activism for world peace, as well as raise funds for humanitarian relief, originating from eight cities worldwide, though there have been several starts and stops in terms of funding, dates, venues and overall vision. WP1 is envisioned as the first installment of a Ten Year Global Peace Initiative. The final concert date is pending.
WP1's production team includes participants who organized, produced, directed or distributed Live Aid, Farm Aid, Live 8 and Live Earth, though WP1 has not solicited the support of some of the other original Live Aid organizers. WP1's concerts will be broadcast live from several primary host cities with additional support from secondary host cities, though the actual cities and venues have changed over the past few years. The organizers predict WP1 will reach an audience of roughly 2.5 billion people in more than 190 countries through a global distribution grid that includes television and radio broadcasting networks, Internet and streaming mobile phones. Venue sites will be linked by satellite, enabling each city to view other events simultaneously. These venue-to-venue uplinks will be shown on Jumbotron, Diamond Vision, and Eidaphor screens at Primary and Secondary Host City sites. The event will also feature theme songs and a series of campaigns, programs, initiatives, activities, marketing and merchandising efforts, related to a comprehensive humanitarian awareness creating solid programs and initiatives for Peace.
Operating and Financial Overview
World Peace One Inc., is a nonprofit charitable organization founded by entertainment executive Doug Ivanovich. Its mission is to fund its programs and initiatives as well as to promote public and private charities and foundations, public relations campaigns, and media events promoting World Peace. This includes peace initiatives related to education, economics, emergency medical relief, music curricula, poverty relief, and technological innovation. Investors and Sponsors help pay the production costs incurred by WP1 Foundation's programs and events. A four-tiered corporatesponsorship program is presently in development. Platinum Sponsors will receive additional benefits resulting from enhanced media exposure.
