Wonderful Dizzy

Wonderful Dizzy (also known as Dizzy VIII) is an adventure-platformer video game published in December 18, 2020 by Team Yolkfolk for the ZX Spectrum. It is the latest game in the Dizzy series in 28 years, and the ninth adventure-based Dizzy title. The game was designed 100% by The Oliver Twins, with the story heavily based on the classic book - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum.
During the ZX Spectrum Next crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in 2017, a new stretch goal was set by The Oliver Twins committing them to design a new Dizzy game if the funds reached its £500,000 target. After the stretch goal are met, they teamed up with the team behind the remake of Crystal Kingdom Dizzy to start developing the game. This is a completely free fan-made project, and the team only works on it during their free time. After over three and a half years in development, the game is finally released for free on its official website.
Initially, there had been plans to release an enhanced version of this game for the ZX Spectrum Next, taking advantage of the machine’s graphical abilities. Unfortunately, the plan was cancelled due to some of the team members receiving some petty abuse from ZX Spectrum Next fans over the way Wonderful Dizzy was released.
