Wingnut Interactive is a video game development studio that was formed in 2006 from a partnership between Microsoft Game Studios and director Peter Jackson. The name of the studio is derived from Jackson's previously created studio, "WingNut Films". The newly formed studio will be based in Wellington, New Zealand and will be working on what Peter Jackson calls "filmic games". The first project, Halo: Chronicles was to be an Xbox 360 game based in the Halo universe originally conceived by Bungie. This game was announced to have been canceled in July 2009. It is unknown if they are still an active game development company.
