Wind Repertory Project

The Wind Repertory Project is an online database of information concerning the repertoire of chamber winds, wind ensembles, and symphonic bands. It is expanded and edited by contributions from members, in this case selected band directors, conductors, students, and wind band enthusiasts worldwide.

Site Features

There are two basic types of articles in the database: compositions and composers.

Each composition page contains specialized information and is not intended to serve as a guide to rehearsal of the works, but rather as a repository of information on the works selected, including but not limited to:

* Year of Composition
* Duration
* Publisher Information and Cost
* User-submitted program notes
* Discography
* Online Audio Links (if available)
* Instrumentation Breakdown (including which percussion instruments are needed)
* Known Errata
* State Difficulty Ratings
* Additional Resources
* Awards won (if any)
* Categorical data (such as genre, form, etc.)

The website also features a message board/forum aimed at discussion of wind repertoire and rehearsal strategies.

Praise

The Music Education Magic website featured a column about the Wind Repertory Project, stating "Of the many wind literature catalogs that have come and gone, The Wind Repertory Project may have finally hit on the means to make the concept work long term."
