William "Chip" F. Merlin, Jr. is the founder and president of the Merlin Law Group, P.A. Merlin Law Group provides legal services to insurance policyholders in disputes with their insurers. They specialize in handling claims following disasters such as hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, earthquakes, dust storms, hailstorms, and mudslides. While there, he was the executive editor of the university's law review. He is a competitive sailor and the owner of the monohull racing yacht Merlin. He is the author of "Pay Up, Preventing a Disaster with Your Own Insurance Company."
