Wiki Races

Wiki Races or races is a competition in which two or more computer users races from one page to another on using only the links in the page they are currently on. The computer users must generally be in the same room to avoid cheating which is why it is becoming a popular thing for students to do at school in computer labs. This game is becoming more and more known and is begining to appear around the internet. History There is no specific history or Wiki Races and no one can take credit for being the creator as many people have been practicing the game for a long period of time thus making it impossible to determine the creator How To Play Before the game begins all players must agree on a finishing page. The page cannot be something that one or more players is educated on. An example of this would be favorite bands as most people will know a significant date for their favorite band and dates will generally appear quite often, clicking on a date allows you to browse topics by year thus making it easier for the educated player One player will click the random article button which will decide the beggining page of the race. If the page has less than 5 links then another beggining page will be selected in the same manner. Once all players are on the starting page the race can begin. The winner is the first person to arrive at the finishing page from the beggining page using nothing but the links appearing on the Wiki article they are currently viewing Rules Of Play Once the players are all on the starting page use of keyboards will warrant immediate disqualification. Right clicking is prohibited at all times during to the game avoid the copy and paste of individual letters into the search bar If you find yourself on a page with no links or become trapped in a loop then it is at the other players discression as to whether or not you can continue. If you are permitted to continue you must click the Randon Article button and begin again. If you are not permitted then you are disquailified from the game In the event of a tie or in the event of a dispute over the winner the cannot be resolved, the involved players will have their own game of wiki races to determine the winner. The tie breaker follows the same rules as the normal game except that if you run out of links or are stuck in a loop, you are automatically disqualified.
