Whole grapes for fasting

Whole grapes for fasting
History
Exploding Grapes are a medical phenomenon which is clinically proven. The theory behind the practice was introduced in 1999 in a private school in Long Beach, NY. Responsible for inciting his students with the idea to perfect the practice is Mayer Kramer, a 6th grade teacher at the elementary school HALB One keen student had heard this and thought it was crazy, so he went home and tried it. The revolutionary student's name is withheld at his request.
=== Definition of "Whole" ===
In order for a grape to be considered whole, it must be un-perforated. Two options of achieving such status are vastly different and it is up to the diner which they choose to employ.
# Stem attached
* This method involves swallowing the stem attached to the grape so that the grape remains whole. WARNING: May cause sever discomfort.
# The Wax Method
* First the stem is detached from the grape causing the grape to become perforated (more on this later). In order to "re-whole" the grape, it must be "re-un-perforated" to allow for the "popping" effect. To do so, wax is used. Take a candle -preferably unscented- and wait until there is wax that has pooled around the wick. Next, VERY CAREFULLY apply some wax to the hole the stem removal caused - with a toothpick. Wax will not effect taste since it is being swallowed whole.
The Process
The science behind the idea is quite simple in fact. All you need to do is find a grape small enough, or have a fairly large throat in order to be able to swallow a grape WHOLE. Generally used for a day of fasting, people have been known to eat - or more accurately, swallow - grapes whole, without chewing them. So to recap, the person looking to have a burst of energy as if they had eaten, need only to swallow whole grapes approximately 14 hours before they wish to experience the sensation of eating without actually breaking their fast.
Argument
Many in the medical community have spoken out against this practice calling it codswallop and discrediting those who make use of the practice. A certain medical practitioner who shall remain anonymous to protect him from any backlash had some very vehement opinions on the matter. In one interview Dr. W. from New Rochelle, NY was quoted as having said "Whoever said that to that boy is a grade A idiot", and in a follow up statement he even went as far as to call the leader of the practice a "REtard". Dr. W. seems to not be alone in his thoughts though seeing as how the opinion that the practice does not work has spread internationally. A student in Israel's IDC program in Herzeliya has come out in support - as recently as September 2010 - of Dr. W.'s opinion that those who practice the act are of a mentally handicapped level. Another college student in New York, NY has taken to social media such as Facebook in order to mock and slander the purveyor of the exploding grape phenomenon.
Rebuttal
It seems the only fair way for anyone to formulate an opinion on the matter would be to try it. The Dr. and his two supporters have obviously not realized that major innovation which we use today were originally rejected by people failing to see their brilliance. Thomas Alva Edison - the father of modern electricity - had invented a device in 1868, this device was an electric vote recording machine. Today we use polling machines in voting centers, and even with elections of non-legislative status, the computer functions as a "voting machine" which dates back to 1868. All of the inventions of Mr. Edison can be found on "Buzzle" as well as the article describing the automatic vote machine being shot down.
Voting Machine
In 1868, Thomas was working for the Western Union in Boston when he tried to market his first invention that was an electric vote-recording machine. But the legislatures failed to recognize his potential and rejected it. Thomas made up his mind at this point of time to only make inventions that would sell. In 1869, he was looking for work in New York City when he decided to try for a position as a supervisor at the Gold Indicator Company. He slept in the battery room of the company when the system broke down. Thomas offered to repair it and true to his word, he got the tickers to work again and he was promptly hired.
