White Cross

White Cross is a hardcore/thrashcore band from Richmond, Virginia. The most enduring line-up was; Mikey Rodriguez (guitar), Richard "Crispy" Kranmer (vocals), Rob Mosby (drums) and Dewey Rowell (bass). They released one EP, one LP, one CD, and were featured on the national hardcore compilation, We Got Power. They also had one track on the French compilation LP "77 KK." The EP, on which Scotty Price played drums and Penn Rollins played bass, was recorded "live" in Studio 2, at the Union Theological Seminary, in October, 1982. In 1984 Dewey left to play guitar in the band Unseen Force. Joel Benson replaced him until the band's demise, after which Mikey and Rob started the band Mudd Helmut. In 1986 Rob and Dewey helped form the band GWAR. On 12 September 2009 White Cross played a reunion show in Richmond, Va. with Mikey's brother, Tommy, on guitar. The show was a benefit for hospice organized by Benny Waldbauer, ex owner of the club Benny's. Bassist Greta Brinkman joined the band in November 2009.
