Webtapping

Webtapping is a term that refers to the practice of logging the IP Addresses of users that access certain websites. Similar to the system used by the FBI to monitor sensitive book titles, webtapping is used to monitor websites that presumably contain dangerous or sensitive materials, and the people that access them. Though it is allowed by the USA Patriot Act, it is considered by many to be at the very least a questionable practice, if not an all-out violation of Civil Liberties.
