Product
WebDeckwas developed over a period of 6 months and was initially sold to government websites such as EST Connexions and BDP Connexions, part of the governmental careers, counselling and advice service.

The software is written in Java and uses either the MySQL or Oracle databases to store content. Over the years other frameworks have been utilised such as WebWork, and Spring Framework to allow easier development.
It also uses the Lucene open source search engine, as well as open source caching for performance.

WebDeck is cross platform and runs on systems such as Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac OS X. WebDeck is based on open standards such as XHTML, XML and Web services.

WebDeck has a number of features to enable less technical users to manage their website including authoring content in teams, workflow support, content versioning, email marketing, website statistics, interactive tools, content tagging. and rating, wiki's, polls, quizzes, blogs and multiple languages.
