Wanksy is a short film about a fictional New Zealand based Graffiti Grime Artist.. His unique style of satirical, political and cultural graffiti grime was first recorded by NZ News Today back in 2005. He utilizes a technique called "graffiti-griminication," where he cleans parts of dirty walls to reveal his artworks. Wanksy (real name Nicky Brick), was born in Timaru, New Zealand in 1974. After graduating from ArtColl with a Diploma in Grimology, he soon gained a reputation for his politically incorrect art grimes. In 2010, he was arrested for scaling down a 40 metre concrete wall in order to create his famous "Graffiti Grime Gets Me High" with an accompanying image of Bob Marley. The Australasian Film Commission recently produced a documentary titled "Wanksy - Graffiti Grime Artist," which first aired in May 2012. Although being left handed, Wanksy often creates his "grimes" using a technique called "ARTTRA," where he used both hands at once, giving the impression of a conductor of an orchestra. He shows this technique in his movie as he produces the controversial art grime featuring Einstein, with the caption "Kiss My Black Hole." His Graffiti Grimes have been recorded everywhere from Temuka, Auckland, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, London and New York. He is presently working as a creative consultant for a Bollywood movie tentatively titled "Where There's A Wall, There's A Way." It tells the story of a Indian Monk on a mission to clean up a town. references
