Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club play in the Surrey Championship with the 1st team playing in Division 2 and play home games at Ashley Park. Walton currently have 4 League sides as well as a friendly side and two Academy sides which also plays competitive cup cricket. In recent memory Walton's 1st team have played as high as division 1 and only been a few points off promotion to the premiership. Current 1st team captain is Matt Haddow who will enter his second season as club captain. Walton have had many notable players including ex Hampshire and Zimbabwe all-rounder Greg Lamb, Wellington & New Zealand batsman Stephen Murdoch and current 1st team bowler Mark Bainbridge who played for England Under-19 cricket team and Surrey County Cricket Club. |
