VV Dronrijp

V.v. Dronrijp is a Dutch football team founded in 1947, based in Dronrijp, a village in the northern province Friesland. Their first team has been playing in the Sunday's third amateur division since 2012.
History
A few years before the Second World War, in Dronrijp a football club was founded, called DVC (Dronrijpster Voetbalclub). It wasn't long after the establishment that the club started suffering financial troubles. That's why the club got the sobriquet "Dooie Voetbalclub", which means "Dead Football Club". A group of villagers decided to found a new football club, after the DVC was given the final blow by the Second World War. On the 23rd of July 1947, the new "v.v. Dronrijp" was established, thanks to P. Donker, J. Jorritsma, J.K. Tolsma, G. Vaas, A. de Vries and A. Walta. The current football field at Welderingsstrjitte became home to v.v. Dronrijp. Nowadays this place is called "De Ring". In 1973, when the number of youth teams increased rapidly, the senior teams moved to Schatzenburg, a sports center between the villages Dronrijp and Menaldum. So far, this situation hasn't changed anymore.
Promotion
V.v. Dronrijp had been playing in the fourth and fifth amateur division for many years, when they got promoted in 2012. The football team beat VV Hoogkerk twice (3-1 and 1-2), which secured their promotion to the third amateur division. The following season (2012-2013), the club managed to prevent themselves from relegation.
