Volpen is a collaborative writing website whose contents are created by its community of users. The site was founded in December 2011, and made available to the public on January 12, 2012. Volpen provides a platform for users to write books collaboratively. The collaboration system is a chapter-by-chapter basis, with each chapter proposal submitted needing to go through a voting process by the community first before the chapter with the most votes are incorporated into the book. Writers that have their chapter submission selected into a book will then own the said book by a prorated percentage of the number of words written in that chapter against the total number of words written in the book. The finished books are then sold on the website's e-bookstore and as well as on Amazon.com. History Volpen was founded by Daniel Liejardi and Alfred Hario. As of July 2012, the website has 20,000 registered users. The company has so far raised $100,000 from a private angel investor.
