Vivvo

Vivvo CMS is a modular framework and commercial content management system (CMS). It is primarily used for building news & media websites, including online newspapers, journals, magazines, TV and radio stations, educational websites, etc. It is similar in its functionality to open source CMS systems like Joomla and Drupal. Among other media organizations, Vivvo CMS powers the online presence of Public Radio International, a major media content creator and a direct competitor to National Public Radio and American Public Media.
Vivvo CMS has full support for RTL (Right-to-left) languages, making it a popular CMS in Arab-speaking countries. While it is not a fully-fledged CMS, it provides an integration with vBulletin, one of the most popular Internet forum software solutions.
Vivvo CMS runs on any computing platform that supports:
* a web server capable of running PHP (version 5.0+), including Apache, IIS or Lighttpd.
* a database, such as MySQL to store content and settings.
History
The company behind Vivvo CMS is Spoonlabs d.o.o, a privately owned and operated company incorporated in Belgrade, Serbia in 2005. So far, Vivvo CMS is their only software product. Vivvo CMS was brought to life in 2004 by Spoonlab's co-founder, Boris Krstovic. The code was fully rewritten in 2007 by Slobodan Utvic.
Vivvo Core
Vivvo CMS is built a top of a object oriented framework written in PHP that focuses on best practices, clean code and reusable components. The framework was built around the idea that all resources are equal and should be available for designers to access them and reuse them at will.
The Framework core is licensed under BSD license and is free to use in Open Source and closed commercial projects.
Vivvo CMS has a templating system, called VTE (Vivvo Template Engine).
This templating system also includes widgets that can be rearranged without editing CSS or HTML code, as well as themes that can be seamlessly installed and switched between.
