Overview
Viva Properties was started in 2001 by co-founders (and current directors) Michael Ta and Greg Rips, starting with development projects of residential property in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. The company focused on the affordable housing market, introducing project management methodologies considered adequate for this niche and its Australian context. The company has provided $250 million of developments in over 50 Australian projects in Victoria and Tasmania., Western Australia and the Northern Territory (in a climate of lowering vacancy rate
The directors won the Victorian Government's "Small Business Heroes 2007 Award" for the success of their project development systems.
In March 2009, Tasmanian Affordable Housing Limited (TAHL), an offshoot of governmental Housing Tasmania, awarded Viva Properties with 2 tenders to supply affordable housing for its tenants. Total number of dwellings in the tenders is over 360 with end value in the range of $75 to $85 million.<ref name="Aboutus"/>
