Vitfoss

Vitfoss is a company specialized in premixes, the main focus being on production and marketing of vitamin and mineral premixes to the feedstuff industry. Vitfoss is one of the largest premix manufacturers in Europe and owned by Dansk Landbrugs Grovvareselskab (DLG), the largest cooperative farm supply in Scandinavia. DLG has activities in Denmark, Sweden, North Germany, Poland and in the Baltic States. In 2012, Vitfoss became part of Vilofoss in collaboration with Vilomix. At the moment, Vilofoss consists of four companies. The other two are Fodermix and Calcialiment. Altogether, Vilofoss has 490 employees.
The international activities are based on Vitfoss-owned representations, local production on selected markets and co-operation with independent distributors.
History

The history of Vitfoss dates back to the early thirties of the century, when the company started as a wholesale supplier of feedstuff in the southern part of Jutland.

1973: Vitfoss was taken over by Superfos Korn A/S, a member of the Superfos group.

1992: Vitfoss/Superfos acquired Deutsche Vilomix, a German company which in terms of products and volume is very equivalent to Vitfoss.

1994: The Danish DLG acquired Superfos and subsequently also Vitfoss.

2001: Vitfoss/DLG took over Prohamix in Poland (today Vitfoss Sp. z.o.o.), a small company manufacturing and selling premixes, concentrates and complete feed.

2000: Vitfoss established its own sales companies in Latvia-SIA "Vitfoss" and in Lithuania-VAB "Vitfoss".

2003: Vitfoss acquired - in co-operation with Svenska Foder - the majority of shares in FoderMix, a Swedish company specialized in special feed products. Vitfoss also established a sales company in Hungary - Vitfoss Hungária Kft.

2005: Vitfoss Romania SRL was established.

2008: Vitfoss established collaboration with Kongskilde companies in France, United Kingdom and United States.

2009: Vitfoss UA Ltd was established in Ukraine. A new advanced bulk terminal was inaugurated in Vitfoss, Gråsten.

2010: Vitfoss Brædstrup was acquired.

2011: Vitfoss acquired Calcialiment, settled in France.

2013: Vitfoss acquired Echam Broviflor.

Apart from being certified as feedstuff company by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration under the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries (registration No. alpha-208-G751872), Vitfoss is also certified according to FAMI-QS. FAMI-QS requires a detailed description of all relevant procedures based on the principles of hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP). The description also includes raw materials and production processes. FAMI-QS aims at providing maximum security that Vitfoss meets the requirements laid down in the EU regulation on feed hygiene.
Logo
In November 2012, the new partnership between Vitfoss, Calcialiment, Vilomix and Fodermix, was announced. Therefore Vitfoss changed its logo in accordance to the new Vilofoss layout platform.
Headquarter
The main Vitfoss headquarter building is situated in Gråsten, Denmark.
Production
Vitfoss produces premix for 18 - 20 million tonnes of feedstuff. The European (EU) feedstuff production amounted in 2011 to 149 million tonnes. For 2013, the production is 110.332 tons.
Operations and Markets
Vitfoss operates worldwide. The European market share is 12 -13 %. One of the biggest in Europe. During the period January 2011 - January 2013 Vitfoss exported to 56 countries.
