Vinesh Sinha (born 21 November 1988) is a Malaysian entrepreneur and environmentalist who founded FatHopes Energy in 2010 to develop sustainable fats, oils and grease solutions for advanced biofuel production. He also founded Minenergy and WRMS (Waste Resource Management Software), and is an investor in COOX, a food and beverages industry business incubator. In 2017, he was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Emerging Entrepreneur category in Malaysia. He was named as 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneur 2017 and was listed in Forbes 30 under 30 - Asia in 2018, and received The Edge Inspiring Young Leaders Award in 2019. Early life and education Sinha was born in Penang on 21 November 1988. He was born a Malaysian Bengalee and was the oldest child in the family. His parents are first-generation Malaysians Bengalees, with grandparents migrating from two different parts of India now called Kolkata and Bangladesh. Sinha enrolled in the London School of Commerce in Business and Finance in 2006. However, he dropped out of college to go into business. He completed his tertiary education in the Executive Program, Owners / President Management (OPM56) at Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts in 2019. Career FatHopes Energy He return to Kuala Lumpur in 2009 and established FatHopes Energy the following year. FatHopes Energy has partnered with restaurants and F&B outlets such as , Pizza Hut, KFC, Burger King, A&W, to collect their used cooking oils, grease trap oil, and spent coffee grounds. Fathopes Energy also collaborated with industrial and agricultural factories, Grab and Sunway Hotels & Resorts, for the recycling of its used cooking oil into biodiesel. Other ventures WRMS (Waste Resource Management Software) was founded by Sinha to digitize the waste supply chain. In 2017, Sinha co-founded Minenergy, a blockchain infrastructure leveraging renewable energy. Minenergy develop and operates data processing centers for cryptocurrency mining, data storage and management using sustainable and cost-effective energy.
