Viewout Vocab Trainer is a flashcard program released in January 2013 for Windows 8. Cards got only two sides and there's currently no possibility to attach pictures, sounds or other medial objects. The program does also not support any kind of import and export. Sync is only possible due to the Windows 8-integrated cloud-system. Features Management Vocab words are managed in a File manager-like interface, allowing the user to create folders to order his or her words in, and copy, cut, delete or test only individually selected objects. Modes The user can choose between several test-modes, including 'Memory', 'Multiple Choice', 'Test' and 'Normal'. Within the normal mode the application tries to give users some special functionality, as it's for example telling one how similar the correct translation and the entered attempt are when making a mistake, or giving the possibility to purchase hints against percent points of the end result. The developer has also announced to be working on a spaced repetition-function following with an upcoming update. Platform Support Two months after the release of Windows 8, the Viewout Vocab Trainer has been published exclusively for the new OS. Due to the fact that the used program languages are been HTML5 and Javascript, it seemed very likely that a Webversion would follow. This had been confirmed by the developer within the description of the second update, claiming that works on porting the application have already began. History First mentioned September 2012 it took 3 months until the mobile application was finally released on the 10th of January for the Windows Store. Two weeks later on the 21st of January Viewout published a first update introducing the new modes 'Memory' and 'Test'. A 'Multiple Choice' mode has been added during the following month on the 11th of February. The latest update is available since the 1st March bringing small modifications to the applications logo and a bigger range of supported languages. Since this update 'Viewout Vocab Trainer' is also available for purchase in many English-speaking countries, including the US, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Another major update and additional versions for other operating systems have been announced, but not published yet.
