Victor Chizurum Ephraim Ike (Born October 21,1978), known professionally as Victor Ike, is an Nigerian-French Soul R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, and arranger, Based in Paris and New-York. His style of music blends with Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Classic Soul and Jazz.
Early life
Victor Ike was born in Lagos Island, Lagos Nigeria, to Imo state parents Elder Nicholas and Comfort Ike, who are preachers and founders of the Assemblies Of God church, Isolo, Lagos. He is a younger brother to the Nigerian Nollywood actor Emeka Ike .
He grew up listening to R&B, Soul, Jazz and Gospel music. He used to sing at home with his big brothers and sisters, Who are great gospel, Soul, jazz singers and instrumentalists. He followed his family music root and started at the age of 5, singing lead solo in the children church. Encouraged by his family and inspired by his mentors (, Donny Hathaway, and Stevie Wonder). Victor, at the age of 6, wanted to join his big brothers soul group Prisoners Of Love Which was becoming famous in his area back in the 80’s, but he was refused by his parents cos he was too young to travel with them for shows, Victor felt hurt and then decided to build his own unique pattern of singing.
Career
Considering music as his calling, he left the university of Jos in Nigeria to engaged a professional singing career but his parents wanted him to have a second profession. He decided to study accounting which he began to love and graduated in 2000-2001 from the University of the Port Harcourt (Nigeria). He returned to finish his master's program in accounting in Paris, France. He also has diplomas in "Leader Of Fire Safety Service" (SSIAP3), "Team Leader Of Fire Safety Service" (SSIAP2), And "Team Member Of Fire Safety Service" (SSIAP1) in France, Where he worked and raised money to open his own music label company Next Music and also produced his first album, which he featured music friends like DMX on his album track "Baby", and New-York Female Rapper KASH on his album track "Can't Live Without U" (co-produced by Ruff Ryders Producer Dame Grease ).
In september 2005, while he was on Europe tour, he was invited to play a concert with DMX and the Ruff Ryders in Nurnberg, Germany. They liked his talent and kept contact with him.
Victor released a single "Angel" in 2010, the single opened great doors for him around the world, where he never expected his music could reach.
He released another single "Beauty Of Love" in 2015, the single was a sucess and was played on popular radios, television stations around the world. Getting great demands for his album by the radio, televison stations and the public, who loved his single "Beauty Of Love", he decided to release his digital album in the market in 2016 & his Physical album in 2017,on his record label Next Music, which is in distribution partnership with Sony Distribution Company. He featured the hiphop legend DMX on his album track "Baby", and New-York female rapper KASH, on his track "Can't Live Without U" ( co-produced by DMX /Ruff Ryders/The Loxproducer Dame Grease and SNAZ) .
