Vera Cherepanova is a governance, ethics, and compliance professional based in Los Angeles, USA. She is the Executive Director of Boards of the Future, a non-profit organization focused on improving corporate board governance. Education Cherepanova holds a Master of Science degree from University College London, a Bachelor of Arts from ICN Business School, and a Bachelor of Science from the Russian Academy of Economics (formerly Plekhanov Russian University of Economics). She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) and a Certifieo Internal Auditor (The Institute of Internal Auditors, USA). Career Cherepanova previously served as Regional Head of Compliance and Internal Audit at Hilti, overseeing operations across Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. She is the founding partner of Studio Etica, a consultancy specializing in corporate ethics and compliance programs. Cherepanova is the Chair of the ACCA Global Forum for Governance, Risk and performance and currently holds advisory roles at Ground Truth Intelligence and serves on the Steering Committee of ComplianceNet. She has lectured and spoken at events hosted by organizations including the World Bank and the OECD. Publications Cherepanova is the author of Corporate Compliance Program, the first book on compliance written in the Russian language. She contributed a chapter to The Transnationalization of Anti-Corruption Law and authored the case study Meat Puppets: An Ethical Dilemma in a Restaurant Setting. Her articles have appeared in Corporate Compliance Insights, Thomson Reuters, FCPA Blog, Fraud Intelligence, and other publications.
