Veiloor GHS

Veiloor GHS a.k.a Veiloor Government High School is a Public school established by the State of Kerala Public Education Department in 1960. The school is located in the suburb of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India; about 8  km north of the Technopark and very close to the Bio-Technology Park. This school has between 200 and 220 instructional days depending on whether you're in primary or upper primary. It follows a CCE curriculum. The school employs 22 female and 11 male instructors.
History
Veiloor GHS was established in the year 1960 as a Primary school with classes from grade 1 to 4 on a single-story small building. In 1963 the school was upgraded to Upper Primary School. Twenty years later in 1983, the school was upgraded to High school; and ever since several new buildings, new playgrounds and several other facilities were constructed along with a modern Auditorium. School initially taught in Malayalam, and later added English as a teaching medium as well. The school facilities now include Science Laboratory, Library and Computer Lab. The school currently has twenty computers for teaching and learning purposes. The school provides mid-day meals to students under the Government program. The school celebrated its 50th year Golden Jubilee Celebration in 2010.
PTA
Since its inception, the Parent Teachers Association has been actively participating in every aspect of school's development. PTA includes teachers, parents, and alums. In recent years, PTA crowd-funded a new school building and a School bus.
Alums
During the sixty plus years of its existence, the school gave birth to several Civil Servants, Doctors, Healthcare, Business and Film Industry professionals. Some of these Alums have their own groups, and they meet regularly and provide donations and help in other areas of student development activities.
