Vanya Yudin

Vanya Yudin (Date of birth unknown) is a child commonly referred to as the "Bird Boy". He was was found in Volgograd, Russia on or around the 25th of February, 2008. It is belived that he may have been born sometime in 2000. Vanya sufferers from Mowgli Syndrome. His mother took an interest more in her birds than her son, and thus the child having no interaction with its mother adopted chirping and whistling as a means of communication rather than speaking.,

Living in a two-room apartment full of cages, the floor scattered with feed and feces, the bird boy spent seven years without communication.

Galina Volskaya, a social worker from Kirovskiy, in Volgograd met with the boy and claimed that whilst attempting to talk to him the child chirps in response, or waves his hands as a bird winnows its wings when he becomes confused.

The child was taken into custody of social services after his mother signed an abdication form; he currently resides in an asylum in Volgograd, but in the future will be moved to the center of psychological care which is monitoring the spread of Mowgli syndrome, with five children having the same syndrome have been identified in the past two months of bird boy being found.
