Valley of the Moon Commute Club is a privately owned and operated public transportation system based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The service is currently provided by Pure Luxury Wine Tours. History The Valley of the Moon Commute Club began service in Sonoma, California during the 1970s, providing a link from the Sonoma Valley to the San Francisco Financial District. There was no scheduled public transit service by Sonoma County Transit or Golden Gate Transit at the time. The club participated in the "Club Bus" program administered by Golden Gate Transit, which provided contract support and a 30 percent subsidy for the cost of service. As required by the program, a not-for-profit organization was formed to collect riders' subscription fees and develop schedules. At its peak, the club had service on five buses. However, the economic downturn and changing travel patterns have resulted in substantial service reductions and fare hikes. By late 2010, service had been cut to one round-trip with a monthly subscription fee of $350. Pure Luxury hoped to break even on the cost of service and increase its exposure. The service is no longer affiliated with Golden Gate Transit's "Club Bus" service. Service The club provides one round-trip per day Monday-Friday. Currently, the southbound morning trip starts at the Highways 116/121 park-and-ride lot in Shellville (near Sonoma) at 5:55 AM and drops off at several stops in San Francisco around 7 AM. The northbound afternoon trip starts in San Francisco around 4:30 PM and arrives in Shellville at 5:45 PM.<ref name="vmcc"/> Fares A monthly subscription to the service costs $350 per person. Single rides are available for $15 one-way or $30 round-trip.<ref name="vmcc"/>
